best hammocks for camping in 2020

#1: ENO Eagles Nest Outfitters Double Person Hammock

ENO hammocks will probably always be our go-to choice. The quality and integrity of the hammocks that are produced are just incomparable to other brands. With that being said, everything has their weaknesses and we’ll let you know exactly what those are.

Pros: DoubleNest hammocks for camping are versatile, comfortable, and compact making them a perfect option for camping, lounging, or hiking.

Weighing only 19oz, this easily foldable hammock can also comfortably fit 2 people. Your purchase includes Aluminum Wiregate Carabiners and nautical grade line with stainless-steel snap links, which are highly durable.

Cons: The main downside to this hammock is the price and the fact that your purchase does not include suspension straps. Coming in at $69.95 on Amazon, these hammocks aren’t the most “budget-friendly”.

Overall Review: David has used his ENO hammock for over 5 years now and has zero complaints. The hammock is super lightweight and has shown no signs of fray or tears. More recently, I bought an ENO hammock and have used it a lot for the last year. Again, the brand, durability, and compactness can’t be beaten when it comes to the best hammocks for camping in 2020.

#2: Wise Owl Outfitters

Pros: The durable Wise Owl hammock is made of high-quality heavy-duty 210T parachute nylon. The double hammock comes in at 26oz., making it a great option for hiking or camping.

You’ll also get everything you need including 2 9-foot tree straps, making it a great value hammock starting at $29.95 (varies by color).

Cons: The straps can be a bit on the shorter side, preventing you from pitching your hammock anywhere you want. There are also several reviews that report fray on the stitching and small holes. Furthermore, the hammock is not as spacious.

Overall Review: David actually purchased this brand for my birthday one year. It seems to be a great option, however, it is definitely not as spacious as the ENOs. I had the single-person hammock and I found it to be far less comfortable than a 2-person (even when sleeping in it alone).

#3: Winner Outfitters Parachute Double

Pros: The Winner Outfitters Parachute Double Hammock is a great value at $23.99 on Amazon and includes straps, ropes, carabiners, and bag. The lightweight, durable hammock is 210T nylon parachute fabric with triple stitching. Buyers have also reported that customer service is very responsive.

Cons: According to multiple reviews on Amazon, there are reports of the straps, seam, and hammock fraying.

Overall Review: Customers are satisfied with the overall durability of this hammock. At such a great price and using similar materials to top-performing hammocks, this has to be the most budget-friendly option on the list.

#4: Rusee Ultralight Cotton Fabric Hammock

Pros: This vibrant-looking hammock is made of rugged canvas that is easy to clean and comes with everything you need, including spreader bars.

Cons: Several reviews have suggested that this hammock does not comfortably hold 2 people. In addition, wood bars don’t seem strong. The wood bars aren’t sealed/painted which could lead to future mildew issues.

Overall Review: While this hammock may not be best suited for 2 people, its a great option for 1 person! The short wooden spreader bar makes the hammock more stable than a long, flat bar. It also allows you to “cocoon” inside the hammock without feeling like you’re going to get smothered. Buyers have been satisfied with its longevity, durability, and price at $28.99.

#5: Hieha Double Camping Hammock

Pros: The Hieha Double Camping Hammock really sets itself apart from the rest on this list as it comes with a mosquito net. If camping in a hammock is your goal, a mosquito net is a must, especially during the summer!

In addition to the mosquito net, this hammock comes with 2 6.56ft. suspension straps, 2 carabiners, and 2 11.48 ft. nylon strings. At $39.99 on Amazon, this is a great value for what’s included.

Cons: While the hammock could definitely hold the weight, it won’t be the most comfortable for 2 people at only 3.5ft. The suspension straps are also not of the highest quality, which is expected when it comes to the more inexpensive hammocks.

Overall Review: The quality, durability, and compactness of this hammock are excellent. According to customers, the mosquito net is also of a higher quality and not sticky. If your goal is to have a 2-person hammock, this may not be the best option for you. But, it works for someone looking to have a larger single with all the components of higher-end hammocks.
